APRIL STAFFER OF THE MONTH
Gabriela Fajardo
Why did you decide to join seeds?
I decided to join Seeds because the other communications tracks didn’t really suit me or call my attention, but I liked the open environment I heard Seeds had from my peers and decided to apply. I also wanted to expand my technological skills with the website.
What do you like most about website so far?
What I enjoy most about being on website is how it’s a relatively new addition to Seeds, and we’re all trying to figure it out and constantly find new ideas. I also really love my team and that I get to work with my best friend, and I feel that everyone is very equal and balanced in sharing the workload.
What do you enjoy most about being in Seeds?
What I enjoy most about Seeds is getting to work with my friends. I really enjoy the freedom of creativity with what we do…We all just work together for the collective of the magazine, and I really enjoy that.
What are some goals you are proud of accomplishing in seeds?
I’m really proud that we were able to win the Columbia Scholastic Press association Gold Crown award for both our online magazines on the website and for the print magazine. I’m also really glad that next year I’m going to be editor, and I’m happy that I can contribute more to the website and continue to update it and help it grow.
What about communication arts interests you? How does that translate into Seeds?
What I really enjoy about communications arts is that it's one of the only majors that really combines everything Dreyfoos has to offer in one. It allows for everyone to collaborate in sharing their art with the rest of the school, and I like how it’s accessible to anyone.
