Doechii

Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon, professionally known as Doechii, first gained attention in 2022 through Tik Tok with her viral track, “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake.” Doechiii grew up in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by the arts, often dancing ballet, tap, and even acting. Her background would inspire her to begin her music journey and eventually to become the first female rapper to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2022. Doechii’s collaboration with Kodak Black reached 98 on the Billboard 100 a year later.

Her popularity has only continued to grow, she made history at the 2025 Grammys Awards, being the third woman ever to claim Best Rap Album. Her unique blend of rap, R&B, pop, and fearless lyrics have set her music apart from other artists, making her a role model for black artists everywhere.
