Scylla
Amber Noble ‘26
This piece was inspired by a Greek myth. Scylla was a woman whom Poseidon loved, but his lover grew jealous and cursed Scylla forevermore. Scylla became a six-headed man-eating monster who poisoned the sea around her, residing between two cliffs and striking fear into the hearts of sailors. At the heart of this story is a woman's suffering, simply because she was a mortal in the face of the gods' capricious passions.
